Teen-Tech-Week

Teenagers who visited the Library in 2015 had many ways to build traditional and digital literacy skills and try something new. Programs ranged from Teen Tech Week and Teen Read Week (two dedicated weeks of system-wide programming in the spring and fall geared to teens) to local branch initiatives including the Teen Book Club at the Garfield Park Branch and the Teen Tech Lounge at the Spades Park Branch. Teen programming in 2015 was made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund, Kiwanis Foundation of Indianapolis, Inc., Tracy L. Haddad Foundation and Friends of the Library.

The Library has hired Kirsten Weaver as its new Teen Program Specialist. Kirsten will work with teen advisory committees to guide the creation and implementation of teen programs in 2016 and beyond. Teen programs in 2016 will be supported by Comcast and the Herbert Simon Teen Services Endowment Fund.
