Library and Library Foundation release 2021-23 strategic plans

Posted on May 31, 2021

The Foundation and Library have worked together to create ambitious plans that complement and support each other. Highlights from the plans include a central focus on racial equity—efforts in this area include increasing related materials in The Library’s collection, as well as giving all Library and Library Foundation staff members racial equity training. The Foundation is also supporting the Digital Encyclopedia of Indianapolis, an ambitious project to update and reinvent a digital record of our city’s history. Additionally, the Library is continuing to build its capacity to serve the public by building new Glendale and Fort Ben Branches, and opening West Perry in summer 2021.

The Library Foundation’s plan was made possible through a capacity-building grant from Glick Philanthropies. You can view the full plans online at indypl.org/about-the-library/strategy and indyplfoundation.org/about.
