Michael O’Brien honored through room naming

The Library Foundation recently named its boardroom “The Michael D. O’Brien Boardroom” in honor of Michael O’Brien, who passed in June 2020. In 2019, Michael and his wife Library CEO Jackie Nytes made the lead gift to the Next 50 Fund. Raised in celebration of our 50th anniversary, the Next 50 Fund supports forward-thinking Library initiatives on behalf of youth.

Additionally, following his death, the Library Foundation received more than $25,000 in memorial contributions. These gifts were used to establish the Michael O’Brien Memorial Fund, which will provide ongoing support for arts initiatives at the Library.
