The Indianapolis Public Library is partnering with IndyHumane for this year’s pet-themed Summer Reading Program! The IndyHumane Pet Adoption Wagon will be at select library branches in June and July as part of the program. The wagon will allow children and parents to meet adoptable pets looking for their forever homes.

The long-running Summer Reading Program will also continue to encourage children to read and learn over the summer by offering prizes to children for recording time spent reading and completing activities. Research shows that when children spend 20 minutes a day reading during summer break, they can prevent summer learning loss, which is critical for keeping on track academically.

Registration started May 1, and participants can start logging reading time on June 1! Visit indypl.org/programs-events/srp/kids for more details.
